Book Tag // Never Have I Ever

Okay, so. Today I’m here with a book tag that I wasn’t tagged in, but it looks like fun and I wanted to play πŸ˜‚ There really isn’t much more to say than that πŸ™ˆ Anyway, the “Never Have I Ever” book tag was created by Madame Writer. Let’s just get on with it, shall we?

NEVER HAVE I EVER READ A LATER BOOK IN A SERIES BEFORE READING THE FIRST BOOK

Read a later book first? No.Β BoughtΒ a later book first? Multiple times πŸ˜… You’d think I’d have learned to check these things when shopping in charity shops, but those bargains get me every time. You wouldn’t believe the amount of times I’ve found out the cheap book I just got for Β£1 is like, the 12th book in a series. Fortunately I’ve always clocked it before actually trying to read said book πŸ˜‚

NEVER HAVE I EVER BURNED A BOOK

BLASPHEMY! Anybody who burns books is not my friend πŸ˜‚

NEVER HAVE I EVER READ A BOOK I KNEW I WOULD HATE

So I’ve never read a book I knew I would hate. I have, however, read a few that I knew I wouldn’t love, but the hype got me and I just had to pick them up (looking at you, Folk Of The Air πŸ˜‚) But the real question is, why would I evenΒ want to pick up a book I know I would hate? Ain’t nobody got time for that πŸ˜‚

NEVER HAVE I EVER WRITTEN FANFICTION

My love of writing actually came into play at pretty much the same time as my love of reading… after finishing theΒ TwilightΒ books for the first time. I was so devastated that the series was over (and so in love with Jacob Black, I might add) that I started writing fanfiction πŸ˜‚ I never shared it anywhere and it’s long since been deleted, but to answer the question, yes, I’ve dabbled. Would I write fanfiction now? Probably not, but I also have nothing against it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

NEVER HAVE I EVER LOVED A BOOK WHEN I WAS YOUNG BUT HATED IT WHEN I GOT OLDER

I wasn’t a huge reader when I was younger, aside from the obvious Harry Potter addiction everyone in my generation had πŸ˜‚ I think if I tried reading Jacqueline Wilson or Roald Dahl now I probably wouldn’t love them as much, but I also don’t think I’d hate them πŸ™ˆ

NEVER HAVE I EVER DRESSED UP AS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE LITERARY CHARACTERS

I’m actually a little disappointed to say that I’ve never done this. I need to go to more costume events I think πŸ˜‚

NEVER HAVE I EVER HATED A BOOK BY AN AUTHOR I LOVE

I don’t like to use the word hate, but I’ve definitely been let down by authors I love. The most recent example I can think of was Ninth HouseΒ by Leigh Bardugo, but I do want to give it another shot at some point. Generally speaking, however, my enjoyment of the authors I love tends to stay consistent 🀭

NEVER HAVE I EVER READ THE ENDING OF A BOOK BEFORE READING THE BEGINNING

So, I did this once. I didn’t read the whole ending, but I read the last couple of sentences in Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows, which basically spoil the entire book πŸ˜… I mean, we all knew how it was going to end, but my little 15-year-old self was devastated that I made such a huge error in judgement. I haven’t done it since πŸ˜‚

NEVER HAVE I EVER READ A BOOK WITHOUT THE DUST JACKET

I do this all the time. Some dust jackets just don’t fit very snugly when a book is open, so why would I risk damaging it when I can just pop it to one side? πŸ˜‚

So there you have my answers for the “Never Have I Ever” book tag! How many of these things have you done? If you want to play along, consider yourself tagged 🀭 Until next time, happy reading! 😘
