So y’all might have noticed that August was a bit of a slow month for me in the blogging department. And by slow, I mean basically non-existent ? I had a super weird month in terms of life, and I just had zero motivation to actually sit at my laptop. That being said, I’m hoping to get back into the swing of things in September. Mainly because the Magical Readathon is back, and I am living for it.
In case you don’t know what the Magical Readathon is, let me try and explain. Basically, G over at Book Roast has created a month-long readathon that runs twice a year in April and September, and this year it’s had a massive overhaul and is now based on a world that G has completely created from scratch. It’s honestly mind-boggling how much creativity has gone into the creation of this world, and I can’t wait to dive in. For a better understanding of exactly what the Magical Readathon is, I highly recommend you check out the announcement video over on G’s channel!
This year, the participants are focusing their efforts on making their way to the Orilium Academy – a school for mages – by treading the Novice Path.
To prove yourself on the Path, you must showcase exceptional skills or wit on at least two occasions. This means that, out of the challenges listed, you must complete at least two prompts to successfully reach the Orilium Academy. Of course, since I’m a completionist at heart, I’m going to attempt to complete all seven prompts ? My reading has been a bit all over the place this year, so who knows if I’ll manage it, but I’m certainly going to give it my best shot! And so long as I complete at least two of them, I’m guaranteed a place at the Academy anyway ?
But I think that’s enough blabbering. Let’s get on with my TBR for the Magical Readathon, shall we? Here are the seven books I hope to read to complete my journey through the Novice Path, and earn my place at the Orilium Academy!

Magic is the first sin. It must be bound.
Ever since Anna can remember, her aunt has warned her of the dangers of magic. She has taught her to fear how it twists and knots and turns into something dark and deadly.
It was, after all, magic that killed her parents and left her in her aunt’s care. It’s why she has been protected from the magical world and, in one year’s time, what little magic she has will be bound. She will join her aunt alongside the other Binders who believe magic is a sin not to be used, but denied. Only one more year and she will be free of the curse of magic, her aunt’s teachings and the disappointment of the little she is capable of.
Nothing – and no one – could change her mind before then. Could it?

THE ORILIUM ACADEMY ARC
READ A BOOK WITH A SCHOOL SETTING
There are no teachers, no holidays, friendships are purely strategic, and the odds of survival are never equal.
Once you’re inside, there are only two ways out: you graduate or you die.
El Higgins is uniquely prepared for the school’s many dangers. She may be without allies, but she possesses a dark power strong enough to level mountains and wipe out untold millions – never mind easily destroy the countless monsters that prowl the school.
Except, she might accidentally kill all the other students, too. So El is trying her hardest not to use it… that is, unless she has no other choice.
So there you have the books I’m hoping to read to complete the Novice Path of the Magical Readathon! If you’re participating, you already know that there is also a character creation section with several more prompts, but I doubt I’ll have time to complete those books in September, so I’ll be creating my character at another time ? Stay tuned for that post in the coming months! Anyway, are you participating in the Magical Readathon this year? Have you read any of the books on my TBR this month? Let me know in the comments! Until next time, happy reading ?
